More Firsts!
Last night I participated in my first art fair. First Fridays is a wonderful Phoenix event that features live music, about 150 vendors, great restaurants and bars and a youthful attendance of over 10,000 visitors.
For a city that never gets rain, the lightning and strong winds began about 9pm with light raindrops following. With only the benefit of a market umbrella and the knowledge that my product didn’t withstand rain or pack up quickly, we decided not to chance it and departed early. Of course the strorm never developed and the more daring vendors stayed on-site until well past 11p when I returned for my loaded-up car.
I am very excited to be included in a slideshow by one of the Arizona Republic reporter/photgraphers (see link pages 7 & 8). My next event is part of the East Valley Art Guild 4th Fridays, on July 24th, at Mesa Riverview-Tempe.
